The 7th Youth Leadership Workshop on GCED
This year’s workshop aims to empower young people in this digital age as responsible
and active global citizens by equipping them with media and information literacy competencies that are important than ever.
In this age where the lines between the digital world and reality are blurred, the media has become inseparable from our lives.
A stream of endless information calls on us to exercise discretion and
reconstruct our identities. The pandemic even more contributed to
shifting large part of our daily lives to the digital sphere. Youth, as digital
natives, are at the forefront of this transformation. All the emergent
challenges and problems notwithstanding, youth with MIL competencies
in line with global citizenship could turn the challenges to opportunities
for a more just, peaceful, and sustainable world for all.
The 7th Youth Leadership Workshop on GCED will help youth leaders
critically reflect on the media, understand the different media cultures,
figure out the embedded social and cultural contexts of media, and
ultimately become active change makers in their society bringing positive
